Blood Orange Spritz Mule

  • 1⁄2 oz Blood Orange Juice

  • 1⁄2 oz Lime Juice

  • 1 oz Vodka

  • 8 Mint Leaves

  • 1 oz Ginger Beer

  • Divina.

  1. Muddle the mint: In a mixing glass, add 8 fresh mint leaves and gently muddle to release the aroma without breaking the leaves too much (you can also crush these in the palm of your hand for speed and ease)

  2. Mix the juices and vodka: Add ½ part blood orange juice, ½ part lime juice, and 1 oz vodka to the mixing glass. Stir to combine the flavours with the mint.

  3. Pour and add ginger beer: Strain the mixture into your glass, then add 1 oz of ginger beer for a touch of spiciness.

  4. Top with Divina: Finish by topping the drink with Divina, allowing the sweetness to balance the tartness and spice.

  5. Garnish: Add a slice of blood orange or a sprig of mint for a festive, seasonal touch.

  6. Serve and enjoy: The Blood Orange Spritz Mule is ideal for autumn gatherings or cosy evenings, perfect for savouring the changing season.

The Blood Orange Spritz Mule was born out of the changing seasons, where the cool autumn air brings a sense of anticipation and celebration. This cocktail, with its bold yet refreshing flavour, became a favourite among autumnal gatherings. The deep, ruby-red blood orange juice symbolises the richness of the autumn harvest, while the lime and mint evoke the fresh breezes of the Italian hills.
